As of 1 January 2024, avocado rechtsanwälte will again be present in Munich with a large group of lawyers. With this move, avocado not only takes into account the steadily growing importance of its own practice in Bavaria, but also significantly strengthens the practice areas "Public Business Law", "Construction and Real Estate Law", "M&A, Corporate Law" and "General Business Law".
Six partners come from ASD's Munich office, which shares "historical roots" with avocado. These include Andreas Pannier, Simon Kopp and Daniel Bens, whose expertise in public procurement law and specialist know-how in the areas of supply and disposal, public safety (BOS), construction and infrastructure, as well as project-related real estate law advice, ideally complement avocado's advisory portfolio.
Overall, real estate and construction law will receive a huge boost at avocado: With Thomas Richter, the practice group is gaining one of the best-known and most renowned real estate lawyers on the market - and for some partners at avocado there is also a pleasant reunion, as they were already partners at ARCON together with Thomas Richter in the early 2000s. Alexander Thiermann joins avocado as an experienced real estate transaction lawyer who has attracted attention far beyond Bavaria in recent years.
Last but not least, Dr. Dagobert Nitzsche has been persuaded to join avocado. In the future, he will bring his strengths to the practice groups M&A, Corporate and General Commercial, not only but especially in national and international transactions.
Together with the above-mentioned partners, five further lawyers will move from ASD to avocado as counsel and three further lawyers as associates. The team also includes Stephan Kleber, a renowned expert in public building and planning law as well as urban development law. avocado will thus also serve the entire real estate life cycle with a total of ten lawyers in the Munich office.
And that is not all: Promising talks are currently underway with further potential partners and associates, so that avocado in Munich will in all likelihood start the year 2024 with well over 20 lawyers.
"I am absolutely happy about this development and about the fact that we were able to convince so many excellent colleagues and very nice people of our firm, our staff and our concept. It was a long way and also a hard piece of work, but I am absolutely sure that all the efforts were worth it and that a great group has come together that fits us perfectly," Markus Figgen, Co-Managing Partner of avocado rechtsanwälte, is pleased to say. "For us, it is the first time that we have taken on such a large number of additional partners and lawyers at the same time. Of course, this also means a small adventure, but we will tackle it with a lot of joy, commitment and enthusiasm. avocado is gaining experience, knowledge and power on numerous levels with the addition of the new colleagues, which goes far beyond pure growth. This makes me very hopeful for the future together". Andreas Pannier, the future head of the Munich office, is also looking forward to the future cooperation with enthusiasm: "We had the feeling right from the start that it would be a great fit, both professionally and personally. This feeling has become a certainty in the last weeks and months. Even before the actual kick-off, we already see opportunities and approaches for joint projects, and I am sure that we will all benefit extremely from this merger."
